Re.RuRal ECOsystem

Re.RuRal - ECOsystem Cycle of 10 international learning mobilities.

It aims to develop a network that is focused on good regenerative practices at a social and ecological level in the rural world.

We are building a network of partnerships in the Transition Village of São Luís, organized by Co.Re - Rural Learning Center.

We had the first learning mobility between October 19th and 25th, 2024.

This activity was intended to:

* Share the good practices we are applying in our rural context

* Plan future collaborations with organizations working in rural areas

* Radically reimagining the future of rural areas in collaboration with the Transition Network

We apply non-formal education principles and work on experiential learning activities;

* Involvement with the local community, landscape and culture,

* Promote spaces for learning and growth among peers.

* Balance between head, heart and hands.

Planned learning outcomes

* Exchange of good practices in working with young people, promoting participation and ecological responsibility in rural areas;

* Experience the community engagement and rural development practices implemented in São Luis;

* Establish links and develop collaborative relationships with youth workers and NGOs across Europe to implement high-quality network projects;

* Explore with Rob Hopkins how radical imagination can guide our actions.

On the last day of this training we had a very special conference

“How to Fall in Love with the Future:
Unleash the Power of Imagination”

Transition Conference

This conference is part of a tour of Portugal by Rob Hopkins and Filipa Pimentel.

The basis of this conference will be the experience of the Transition Movement as an agent of international eco-social change, with a special focus on the power and importance of imagination for human beings, especially in times of crisis when change in the world is urgently needed.

This tour comes at a time when Rob Hopkins' latest book is published in Portuguese - 'What if... we freed our imagination to create the future we want?' - translated into 6 languages - available from Bambual Portugal

The tour schedule will cover the whole of Portugal: it will start in Viseu; Culturgest, Lisbon; Rizoma, Telheiras - Lisbon; Póvoa de Varzim; Sintra; Beirã, Portalegre; Montemor-o-Novo; São Luís; Faro; Planetiers (Aveiro) and the Catholic University of Porto.
